All plans include the full feature set. Plans differ only in volume limits. Document limits are per account, across all knowledge bases. Annual billing is available at a discount (equivalent to ~2 months free).

What Counts as a “Page”

• Rich documents (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, images): Actual page count from processing.
• Text-based files (TXT, MD, HTML, CSV, TSV, JSON): Estimated at 1 page per ~2,400 bytes of content.
• Text ingestion: Same as text-based files — estimated from content length.

What Counts as a “Search Query”

Each call to POST /v1/knowledge-bases/:kb_id/search counts as one search query, regardless of top_k or filter complexity.

Limits & Overages

When you hit your monthly limit, the API returns 429 USAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. Usage resets at the start of each billing period.

Accounts with overage enabled will be billed per extra page ($0.08) and per extra query ($0.008). Accounts without overage enabled will receive 429 USAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED — upgrade to the next plan if you need more capacity.

Trial Plan

The trial plan is free for 7 days with no credit card required. It includes 100 pages and 500 searches — enough to evaluate the API with real data.

Billing

Billing is handled through a Merchant of Record. Subscriptions are monthly with no long-term commitment.
