What Counts as a “Page”
Section titled “What Counts as a “Page””- Tier 1 files (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, images): Actual page count from the parser.
- Tier 2 files (TXT, MD, HTML, CSV, TSV, JSON): Estimated at 1 page per ~3,000 bytes of content.
- Text ingestion: Same as Tier 2 — estimated from content length.
What Counts as a “Search Query”
Section titled “What Counts as a “Search Query””Each call to POST /v1/knowledge-bases/:kb_id/search counts as one search query, regardless of top_k or filter complexity.
Limits & Overages
Section titled “Limits & Overages”When you hit your monthly limit, the API returns 429 USAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. Usage resets at the start of each billing period.
There are no overage charges — upgrade to the next plan if you need more capacity.
Trial Plan
Section titled “Trial Plan”The trial plan is free with no credit card required. It includes 100 pages and 500 searches per month — enough to evaluate the API with real data.
Billing
Section titled “Billing”Billing is handled by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record. Subscriptions are monthly with no long-term commitment.
